Many Manchester United fans will be crying into their beer tonight after the Liverpool Crown verdict of not guilty being handed to Steven Gerrard.
The Liverpool and England football player was handed out by the jury after hearing evidence that the player, who was at a club drinking with friends, struck the resident DJ after being told he couldn’t play his own choice of music.
The footballer threw the first of consecutive punches that led to a free for all with Gerrard’s friends being involved in the fracas that followed. Amazingly, Gerrard claimed that he threw the punch in “self-defence” saying that he thought the DJ was becoming aggressive.
Many would argue that the best form of self-defence in this situation would be to walk away but instead he actually pursued the DJ into a back room.
It comes as absolutely no surprise that “illegitimate” children of Michael Jackson are coming forward. The King of Pop has not even been properly buried and the first case has arisen, that of Norwegian born Omer Bhatti.
The result of an alleged one night stand, Omer was a resident of Neverland for several years, being raised alongside Michaels “real” children although nobody had really asked any questions up until now. There are pictures of Omer at Christmas time with the other Jackson siblings opening presents; he was also there when the ranch was raided while Jackson was under suspicion of child abuse.
If this budding hip-hop star who goes by the name of O-Bee really is part of the family, then great, I hope he gets his fair share of whatever is left of the estate – but if he is not I don’t think he will bet he last to undergo DNA tests to prove paternity.
As if Jacko has not been abused enough in his death with squabbles about where he is to be buried and who’s fault it is that his heart stopped after all these years of abusing his body, then it is just the natural progression of things that people claim to be the carriers of his super star DNA.
Actually now that I think of it, perhaps I should send a strand of hair through to be tested – I can do a pretty awesome moon walk…
